Our Mission

The Historical Society of Cumming/Forsyth County, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded to educate the public, to encourage historic research, to protect historic buildings and sites, and to preserve the cultural heritage of Forsyth County.

History of the Cumming

Forsyth County Historical Society

The Historical Society of Cumming/Forsyth County has spent many years collecting stories, photographs, and documents that help preserve our community’s past. Our goal is to make local history easy to explore and accessible for everyone, from students and researchers to long-time residents who want to reconnect with old memories.

We continue to grow our archives, partner with local groups, and share new discoveries through programs and events. By keeping these stories alive, we help future generations understand how our community has changed, who shaped it, and why our history matters.
