Our Story

Keeping Local History Alive for the Future

The Forsyth County Historical Society is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Forsyth County and its people. Since its founding, the Society has worked tirelessly to collect photographs, documents, artifacts, and stories that capture the unique spirit of our community. Our mission is to protect these valuable records of the past and make them accessible to everyone — from lifelong residents and local students to visitors discovering our area for the first time.

Through educational programs, exhibitions, and community events, we aim to inspire pride in our shared heritage and encourage the preservation of the places and memories that define Forsyth County. Whether it’s restoring historic landmarks, hosting public events, or supporting research into our local history, we continue to celebrate the legacy that connects generations and strengthens our sense of community.
